What is Battery Aluminum Foil?
Battery aluminum foil (99.9% Al, CAS 7429-90-5) is the standard cathode current collector in lithium-ion cells. Aluminum is light, conductive and forms a passive film that is stable at cathode potentials, so LFP, NMC, LCO and LMO slurries are coated onto it. It is also used on both electrodes in sodium-ion cells.

Frequently asked questions
Why is aluminum used for cathodes but not graphite anodes?
Aluminum is stable at high cathode potentials but alloys with lithium at the low potentials of a graphite anode, so copper is used there.
Can I order aluminum foil in bulk?
Yes. Use the enquiry form on this page or email [email protected] with the quantity and specification you need, and we will send a bulk quote.
Do you ship outside Canada?
