NCA Cathode Lithium Nickel Cobalt Aluminum Oxide LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 Powder

NCA Cathode Lithium Nickel Cobalt Aluminum Oxide uses less expensive Nickel and Manganese to substitute some of the Cobalt and thus make it a price competitive cathode for Lithium-ion batteries. It has high capacity, high energy density, and high Columbia efficiency in the first cycle.

Special Note:

  1. High nickel cathode materials are alkaline. It should be stored in a vacuum or inert gas environment to prevent reactions with moisture and the air. An irreversible capacity loss will be found if the storage condition is not well maintained.

  2. Humidity should be strictly controlled during the process of the NCA cathode, from making a slurry to drying the electrode.

  3. The electrode slurry made from high-nickel cathode material is less stable than that of the conventional transition metal oxide. The electrode formula needs to be optimized.
